Colony Affairs / Tyler's Trailer
-01

The Colony Affairs terminal was designed as a retro-futuristic utility app — think corporate spreadsheet software, intentionally unglamorous, built for Weyland-Yutani bureaucrats. Tyler's terminal gets a bit more personality: a WY boot screen, custom ASCII art, and the hacked Renaissance Station manifest.

The Corbelan IV
-02

The USCSS Corbelan IV was a mining hauler owned by Weyland Yutani. As an old ship, its operating system was closer to the Nostromo than the newer and more hi tech Renaissance Station.

The UI includes a variety of piloting and navigational systems, some new and some borrowed from Alien (the airlock screen was one of the two screens used in Alien and Blade Runner).

The Airlock
-03

The Renaissance Station's computer system is built on the MU/TH/UR 9000 OS—a step up from the colony's utilitarian terminals. Brighter screens, cleaner fonts, less bitmap. Still consistent with the original film's aesthetic, but with subtle nods to Covenant to bridge the visual continuity between films.

Remus Lab
-04

The Renaissance Station's Remus science lab is where the crew finds the android Rook amongst idle screens of various research being done on the xenomorph.

Cryochamber
-05

The cryochamber is the lab where the facehuggers were being created. Seen are more idle screens showing various stages of 3D printing. I had to invent the content of the science behind the 3D printing operation of an alien parasite, including the printer type and kind of ink being used.

Rook's Terminal
-06

Rook's terminal documents the station's xenomorph research, genetic mapping, compound Z-01 development, the paper trail of Weyland-Yutani's obsession rendered in data. All of it written from scratch, outside the script, to feel like it had always been part of the lore.

Romulus Lab / The Armory
-07

The Romulus wing of the station is the newest and most advanced. This is where more of the high level research was being done, so I wanted to give these screens a bit of a cleaner look with a slightly more distinct color palette. The armory is also here where we find the cool new model of the pulse rifle.

Collision / Escape
-08

The Renaissance's collision sequence was a highlight, a chance to redesign the classic PURGE screen with analog glitching achieved by running footage through Tachyons+'s custom video synthesizers. The right tool for the right moment.
