I had the pleasure to pitch on the open title sequence for the film X-Men: Dark Phoenix. I developed three distinct concepts that evoked the core concepts and style of the film, while attempting to create a classic aesthetic which differentiated itself from the over the top logo reveals of the previous X-Men films.

"Black Hole" is a stylized representation of the death and rebirth of a star. In a nearly monochromatic space, the star goes supernova creating a black hole, and with it gravitates in all of the adjacent matter. Once all of the matter of space has been accumulated, the energies explode giving birth to the Phoenix.

"Dark Star" begins in the atmosphere of a star. As it travels further into space the star dies out, leaving behind a husk of ash and remaining subsurface heat. The star then erupts filling the galaxy with light and energy.

"Big Bang" depicts the life force of the universe coming alive in the form of the big bang. A distant light at the edge of space erupts and for a second you see the form the Phoenix, which dies and dissapates its energies across the galaxies. In the place of the Phoenix, a dead star comes back to life.
